Areas of Kentucky's Electric Cooperatives
The
Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives is only as strong as
the members it serves. And, in Kentucky, there are 26 cooperatives
across our state. Two are generation and transmission cooperatives
(they create the power) and 24 are distribution co-ops (they deliver
the power to homes and businesses). Together, our members serve more
than one and a half million men, women and children in our
Commonwealth.

cooperative.
NOTE:
The distribution areas shown are approximate locations of franchise
boundaries. Areas shown in gray are not served by electric
cooperatives.
*These co-ops purchase their
power from the Tennessee Valley
Authority (TVA), a quasi-government wholesale power supplier --
not a cooperative.
