RUS Gets New Deputy Administrator

Anthony C. Haynes, a native of Trenton, Tenn., has been appointed deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service. Haynes’ background seems to make him a good fit for the post. His father served with the USDA Soil Conservation Service, and his mother worked for Gibson EMC, Trenton, Tennessee. Prior to this position, Haynes was a member of the Lower Mississippi Delta Development Commission and confidential assistant to the RUS administrator serving as the department’s lead person for industry restructuring and deregulation.
