Kentucky Women in Rural Electrification (WIRE) has chosen three winners to receive $750 college scholarships for 2001-2002.
The winners are:
-Rebecca K. Vincent of Leitchfield, a member of Bowling Green-based
Warren RECC
-Candace Nicole Cupp of Manchester, a member of McKee-based Jackson Energy Cooperative
-Meredith R. Frye of Somerset, a member of Somerset-based South Kentucky RECC
Scholarships were awarded based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, career goals, recommendations from professors and community leaders, and financial need.
Kentucky WIRE is an organization composed of the wives of rural electric cooperative directors, managers and other key employees. Its goal is to further the public’s understanding and appreciation of the rural electric program.
