Co-op Connections Cards Provide Discounts to Co-op Members

Twelve of Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy ® Cooperatives recently announced that their members will receive a new discount card along with the December issue of Kentucky Living magazine.

The new Co-op Connections Card will provide discounts on products and services from participating businesses in their local areas and anywhere in the U.S. that honors the card.

“When members receive their cards, they can log onto their local co-op’s Website or www.connections.coop to view a list of participating businesses,” said Jerry McDonald, a spokesman for Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy ® Cooperatives. “As the program grows, we expect more businesses to participate.”

To receive their discounts, all members have to do is show their Co-op Connections Card to any participating business.

Currently, more than 1,000 Kentucky businesses have agreed to honor the card.

“Savings will vary from merchant to merchant,” said McDonald, “some may be discounts of 5 to 10%, while other offers may be a value added (buy two, get one free, or buy one, get another at half price, etc.).”

Within a few months, every participating business will receive a window sticker and a cash register sticker that identifies it as a participant.

“There is no charge for this program,” said McDonald. “It’s just one more way our customers can benefit from being a co-op member.”
