Duncans
Career Spans 50 Years in the Electric Co-op Systems
01/06/2006 Bill
Duncan, the 23-three-year general manager and CEO for Licking
Valley Rural Electric Corporation in West Liberty, Kentucky
stepped aside on January 3 following a fifty year career in Kentucky's
electric cooperative system.
Bill first took employment at Kentucky electric co-op systems' statewide
organization, the Kentucky
Association of Electric Cooperatives (KAEC), in its manufacturing
plant in 1956. He worked his way through the organization becoming
controller in the Financial Services Department several years before
he was selected as CEO of Licking Valley in 1984.
Bill Duncan will be best known by his colleagues, co-workers and
employees as a tireless individual who endeavored to enhance customer
services, employee standards and working conditions for Licking
Valley RECC.
Bill Duncan has lived the co-op life. He has always been driven
to work hard and never took his responsibilities lightly during
his five decades of service. As KAEC President Ron Sheets stated
at Bills retirement party, You always knew while Bill
Duncan was general manager that you could rely on and be secure
in the feeling that he would take care of and personally oversee
any problem that arose at Licking Valley RECC.
Succeeding Bill as CEO is Kerry Howard. Kerry joined the cooperative
in 1993 and most recently has been serving as Manager of Finance
and Administration.
